Community Leadership Programme in India a success

IACD completed its first Community Leadership Programme in October 2011. Nine participants from Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda, Kenya, Zambia and Sri Lanka spent ten days visiting community groups and leaders in urban and rural areas of Maharashtra state, India. We would like to say a huge thank you to all who made this possible and contributed to the learning and sharing. In particular, we are grateful to Mini Bedi, the team at DST Pune and all the host projects, to programme facilitator Ingrid Burkett, and to the Commonwealth Foundation, whose financial support made the trip possible. We’ll post more information on the IACD website soon, and will include a full report in our next newsletter.

“It’s been a great experience that I can’t stop sharing. It’s really going to stay with me for a very long time…”

"I came away very enriched by the field and project trips as well as the classroom models that were packaged in ways that reconnected with what I already do, that provoked and gave me a new language/lenses to interpret and examine CD practice"
